It was established in Ankara on October 2, 1981, to serve the Republic of Turkey in the field of folk culture.

Folk Dance Courses
Registrations are now open for our 49th term folk dance courses for the year 2025.
(Classes will be held on Sundays between 13:00 and 16:00)
Our courses include dances from the regions of Azerbaijani, Tokat, Edirne, Zeybek, Trabzon, Çiftetelli, Kırşehir, Burdur, Bingöl, Urfa, and Artvin.
The monthly participation fee is 500 TL per month.
It is mandatory to attend the classes wearing sneakers and sportswear.
Our dance practices take place in our own studio located at (Şehit Gönenç Caddesi No:16/B), above Maltepe Mosque near Maltepe Nokta stop, across from Ankara Science University.
(Our studio features a parquet floor, mirrors, restroom, changing rooms, and air conditioning).
